 The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver qualification (AOWD) is the second level qualification following the Open Water Diver qualification (OWD). At the OWD level divers gain basic knowledge of skills, equipment and theory to safely explore the underwater realm to a depth of about 18 meters (60 feets).
The AOWD focuses on refining these skills, allowing the diver to explore a broader variety of diving to a maximum of 30 meters (100 ft) deep. The PADI AOWD course is composed of some theory and 5 Dives. Two of these dives are mandatory - Deep Dive and Underwater Navigation. The other 3 are your choice and here at Palawan DiversTM we offer the following :
 - Project Aware, Fish Identification (The PADI Project AWARE Fish Identification Specialty course provides you with the fish identification basics)
- Boat Diving (Diving from a boat is fun, especially when you look at ease when maneuvering around on it. It’s fun to know what you’re doing.)
- Drift Diving (not all the time since it depends on weather conditions)
- Multilevel and Computer (The PADI multilevel diver course allows you to learn how to plan dives that extend your bottom time)
- Night Diving (a requirement of 3 divers at least is necessary)
- Peak Performance Buoyancy ( we suggest this to many of our students)
- Search and recovery (The PADI Search and Recover Diver Specialty course will teach you effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface)
- Underwater naturalist (This Adventure Dive is an introduction to aquatic life including an overview of responsible human interactions with aquatic life)
- Underwater Photography (The fun part about this course is learning to capture images to share with your friends and family. It’s a great way to relive the adventures you have had)
- Wreck (only on the Coron SAFARI Trips)
 Our course can be done in 2 days but preferably 3 to have time to discuss your theories and time to do your readings, classroom sessions and Knowledge reviews.
