PADI Open Water Certification is the first level of training for those who want to discover the Underwater World.  The course has three sections that Palawan Divers will follow :

Theory – is a very important part of the course. Here, we learn all the rules that make recreational diving safe. We also learn about the dive equipment and what other factors we need to consider when we are diving. This section of the course is done mostly through independent studies with the aid of a video and manual – but if the student requires or desires additional explanation on any of the subjects, we will offer classroom sessions.  The theory takes about 8 - 10 hours to complete, including quizzes and final exam. We suggest our  students to divide this section in 2 - 3 segments for better understanding of all the material. Please also check the e-Learning facility which is also available. You will save a lot of time.

Confined Water sessions – this is the beginning of the practical section of the course. We spend a whole day in a confined water environment – a beautiful beach very close from El Nido with a shallow sandy area and very calm conditions.  Here we practice all skills necessary to make diving safe and enjoyable. The confined water is divided into 5 sessions for easy understanding, adapting, feeling comfortable and allow time to perform all skills, in a relax and fluid manner.

Open Water Dives – the course requires 4 Open Water Dives over a period of 2 days. Here we repeat many of the skills learned on the confined water sessions but in real dive sites and more realistic situations. We limit our classes to small groups so there is always time for exploration and enjoyment after we practice the skills in each of the dives.

El Nido - Palawan is a fantastic place to learn for our great Marine biodiversity and beautiful scenery above and under the water. The water temperatures fluctuate between 27 and 30 degrees – so makes it very comfortable. We have great visibility for the most part of the year and no strong currents. We have over 18 different dive sites that we can visit.
